U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart invites members of the local DoD and off-post communities to an open house at the historic Panzer Firehouse located near Panzer Kaserne in Böblingen.
The event will take place from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. on May 30 at the building located on Waldburgstrasse in Böblingen. The event offers an opportunity to celebrate the longstanding friendship between the United States and Germany and to strengthen the bond between the community and American service members.
“We are grateful for the support of our German neighbors and friends,” said U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart Commander Col. Kirk Alexander. “Their generosity contributes to the well-being of our military community in Stuttgart. “
Admission to the event is free. Those attending can view history exhibits of the old firehouse, which has served at various times as an officers’ club, a hotel, and a community center. Additionally, the Army will set up emergency vehicles and have information available on career opportunities for those authorized to work in Germany.
Food and drinks will be available to purchase. No advance registration is required to attend.

Die U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart lädt seine Nachbarn zum Tag der offenen Tür in das historische Panzerfeuerwehrhaus in die Waldburgstrasse, Nähe Panzerkaserne in Böblingen ein.
Die Veranstaltung findet am Donnerstag, den 30. Mai von 11 bis 16 Uhr in dem Gebäude der Waldburgstraße 104 in 71032 Böblingen statt. Die Veranstaltung bietet die Gelegenheit, die langjährige Freundschaft zwischen Amerikanern und seinen deutschen Nachbarn zu feiern und die Verbindung zu stärken.
"Wir sind dankbar für die Unterstützung unserer deutschen Nachbarn und Freunde", sagte der Kommandeur der U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart, Oberst Kirk Alexander. "Ihre Freundschaft trägt zum Wohlergehen unserer Militärgemeinde in Stuttgart und Umgebung bei. "
Der Eintritt zu dieser Veranstaltung ist frei. Die Teilnehmer können sich historische Exponate der alten Feuerwache ansehen, die zu verschiedenen Zeiten als Offiziersclub, Hotel und Gemeindezentrum gedient hatte. Außerdem wird die Armee Einsatzfahrzeuge aufstellen und Informationen über Arbeit und Karrieremöglichkeiten für in Deutschland arbeitserlaubnisberechtigte Personen bereithalten. Speisen und Getränke werden zum Kauf angeboten. Für die Teilnahme ist keine Anmeldung erforderlich.

In the coming days, U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart public works crews will begin installing signs along Florida Strasse at Patch Barracks to better define where drivers can (and can’t) park during working hours. Cars and trucks parked on both sides of Florida Strasse have recently caused impediments to traffic flow that have made it hard for service and construction vehicles to safely get through.
The garrison will conduct testing of its “Giant Voice” Mass Warning Notification System on Patch and Kelley Barracks on Friday, May 3. Loudspeakers will play various tones and test messages in order to ensure the functionality of the system.Read More
