For those who haven’t been at Stuttgart’s State Opera yet, now’s the chance. The German-American Center James-F.-Byrnes Institute will offer special programs at the opera in November and December.
On Nov. 14, “Madame Butterfly,” an opera by Giacomo Puccini, will play from 7-10 p.m. An English introduction to the opera will be held at 6:15. The evening will conclude with a meet and greet with the American opera singer Helene Schneiderman.

A “backstage at the opera” event for families will be held at Stuttgart’s State Opera Dec. 13 and 27 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. An English-guided tour at the opera and performance of Peter Pan will be offered.
