U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart is enhancing security by upgrading gate infrastructure at Kelley Barracks, Patch Barracks, Panzer Kaserne Housing, and Robinson Barracks. These improvements enhance the garrison’s ability to protect everyone who lives and works here. This page is the central resource for information about this critical construction project.
The garrison will carry out this project across our installations in phases to minimize disruptions to our community.
How will this project impact you?
Patch Barracks
Construction on the Patch Barracks Main Gate is scheduled to begin June 11 and continue through August with changes affecting traffic flow, pedestrian access, and visitor processing. The temporary gate is expected to open in June with basic features to support traffic flow and safety. It will allow for improvements at the Main Gate from June through August.
No inbound traffic at Patch Main Gate
During construction, the inbound lane at the Main Gate will be closed. All inbound traffic must use the K&K gate (during operating hours) or an alternate gate near the Swabian Event Center, off Pascalstrasse.
Adjusted lane usage at K&K Gate
The K&K Gate will reverse lane usage throughout the day. Adjustments include:
- Two inbound lanes will operate from 6 a.m. to 3:45 p.m.
- Two outbound lanes will operate from 3:45 p.m. to 6 p.m.
- Pedestrian access
New 24/7 temporary gate on Pascalstrasse near the Swabian Event Center
A temporary access gate is being built near the Swabian Event Center. It will include:
- Four inbound lanes
- One outbound lane
- Right-turn-only access for both inbound and outbound traffic
- Pedestrian access
- Two forms of ID will be required to enter through this gate. Have your IDs ready to expedite access.
Arkansasstrasse speed limit reduced to 15 kilometers per hour
Increased congestion on Arkansasstrasse is expected, especially at the onset of the project. In the interest of safety for everyone involved, the speed limit on Arkansasstrasse will be reduced to 15 kilometers per hour between the Swabian gate and Montanastrasse on June 11. This new speed limit will be strictly enforced with zero tolerance for speeding and is expected to remain in place until completion of the project.
Visitor access restricted
Throughout construction, visitor passes and manual lookups will only be processed on Patch Barracks at the K&K Gate from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. After duty hours and on weekends, you can obtain visitor passes from the Visitor and Installation Access Control Office on Panzer Kaserne or Kelley Barracks.
