U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart has released a new parking policy that replaces all previous parking memorandums and outlines updated enforcement rules for service members, civilians, contractors, and family members driving on the installation.
The policy aims to improve traffic flow, ensure fair access to parking spaces, and support safe, efficient operations across the garrison. All drivers must follow U.S. Army in Europe-Africa (USAREUR-AF) Regulation 190-1 and park only in clearly marked or designated areas. Vehicles must be parked within the lines, facing the correct direction of traffic.
Key updates include:
-
Fire lanes and emergency access: Parking or stopping in fire lanes, in front of hydrants, or anywhere blocking emergency vehicles is prohibited.
-
Disability and reserved parking: Only vehicles displaying a valid USAREUR-AF handicap parking card may use designated accessible spaces. Other official or reserved spaces, including those for expectant mothers and Gold Star families, require proper authorization.
-
Family Housing: Each residence has at least one reserved spot. Visitor spaces are for guests only. Long-term vehicle repairs in housing areas are limited to 48 hours.
-
Overnight parking: Overnight parking is not allowed in restricted areas unless approved for official travel or emergencies.
-
Enforcement: Violations may result in citations, USAREUR-AF license points, towing at the owner’s expense, or suspension of on-post driving privileges for repeat offenses.
Vehicle owners are also reminded to properly dispose of or register non operational or abandoned vehicles with the Vehicle Registration Office.
