U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart’s Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) directorate is continuing its multi-phased transition to cashless operations to provide more efficient and secure services for the community. Several more facilities will adopt a card-only payment model in the coming weeks.
Effective Feb. 18, 2026, the following MWR facilities will transition to cashless payments:
- Swabian Community Activity Center
- Panzer Auto Skills and Kelley Auto Skills
- Patch Arts & Crafts Center
- Patch Java Cafe and Kelley Java Broadway Cafe
- Galaxy Bowling & Entertainment Center
- Stuttgart Golf Course
This initiative aims to enhance customer experience by speeding up transaction times and increasing security for both patrons and staff. All major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover, are accepted.
The transition began on Oct. 1, 2025 with Outdoor Recreation and Child & Youth Services. The program expanded on Feb. 2, 2026 to include all USAG Stuttgart Physical Fitness Centers, the MWR Tours Office, and the Value Added Tax (VAT)/UTAP Office.
“Moving to a cashless system in many of our facilities allows us to better serve our community,” said John Hamilton, Family & MWR NAF Support Division Chief. “It improves efficiency at the register, helps reduce risk, and allows staff to focus on delivering quality service rather than handling cash.”
The gradual rollout is designed to ensure a smooth transition across the garrison. Family & MWR thanks the community for its patience and support as it continues to modernize its services.
