AAFES latest update further streamlines online shopping

DALLAS – The Army & Air Force Exchange Service continues to make customer-friendly upgrades to ShopMyExchange.com, recently adding several new features that make it even easier to shop online with the Department of Defense’s largest military retailer.

The ongoing updates began last year as the Exchange prepared to extend lifelong online shopping benefit to all honorably discharged veterans on Veterans Day 2017. Eligibility to receive military-exclusive pricing and tax-free shopping can be verified.

The latest upgrade includes text-message order updates, which notify shoppers as soon as orders have shipped and when they are delivered, and predictive search engine that helps shoppers find what they are looking for faster than ever.

Shoppers can also now initiate product returns from the site’s My Account page, hastening the return process and eliminating the need to include a pre-printed return label with every order. MILITARY STAR cardholders can now check their available balance on the My Account page, making it easier to take advantage of the card’s industry-low interest rate and competitive rewards program.

“We are honored to bring this next-generation online shopping experience to the military community,”said Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Luis Reyes, the Exchange’s senior enlisted advisor. “These improvements make shopping online with the Exchange easier than ever for warfighters, military families, retirees and honorably discharged veterans.”

Last year’s site updates added capacity for 30,000 simultaneous shoppers, introduced near-real-time inventory updates and re-engineered ShopMyExchange.com’s mobile site to adapt to all devices’ screens.

More upgrades, including a redesigned shopping cart and checkout section, are expected later this year.
