The Patch Barracks Gate Improvement Project is expected to increase congestion on Akansasstrasse this summer. In the interest of safety for area residents, pedestrians and children, the speed limit on Arkansasstrasse between the Swabian Gate and the traffic circle at  Montanastrasse, will be reduced to 15 kilometers per hour  beginning on June 11–the day the gate improvement project begins and the Swabian Gate opens.

This new speed limit will be strictly enforced with zero tolerance for speeding and is expected to remain in place until completion of the project. Drivers should be aware that speeding tickets will be issued without exception to individuals observed traveling at a speed greater than 15 kmh. These tickets may incur points that are attached to the driver’s license.
