Boil water notice issued for parts of Göppingen and Esslingen counties through Aug. 13

Residents of some towns and cities in Göppingen and Esslingen counties must boil tap water through at least August 13 due to bacterial contamination, according to local media reports and press releases.

The boil water notice was issued on Thursday afternoon, August 6, after bacterial contamination by enterococci and E. coli was found during regular testing. Investigations are underway as to how the contamination occurred, and the pipeline system is being disinfected and flushed to clean out the bacteria.

In the meantime, a boil water notice is in effect for the following communities:

Göppingen County:

  • Göppingen (districts of Manzen, Ursenwang, St. Gotthardt, and Hohenstaufen)
  • Gammelshausen
  • Heiningen
  • Eschenbach
  • Schlat
  • Deggingen-Reichenbach
  • Eislingen
  • Dürnau
  • Bad Boll

Esslingen County:

  • Weilheim an der Teck
