PES students replicate Native American homes

Patch Elementary School

Patch Elementary School fourth grade teacher Paul Kerr, along with Dana Rivera and Kathleen Shives engaged students in an assignment earlier this month to build one of eight Native American houses. These houses had to be built with supples the students collected together over the past few weeks.

This assignment not only supported fourth grade standards for social studies, but also supported STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) initiatives through the newly adopted “Next Generation Science Standards” which DoDEA has renamed, “College and Career Ready Science Standards.”
