Outstanding 7th and 8th grade musicians, including 19 students from Patch Middle School, performed at the Middle School Honors Band Festival in the Kaiserslautern gymnasium, USAG Rheinland-Pfalz, March 1.

All of the students were nominated by their directors to attend the Middle School Honors Band Festival; the 19 students from Patch were nominated by their band director, Marlene Bye. Around 75 students in total from across DoDEA Europe East were selected to participate in the Honors Band.

The assembled students rehearsed together, and then the concert was conducted by Lt. Col. Donald Schofield Jr., commander, U.S. Air Force in Europe Band.

The Middle School Honors Band Festival is a DoDEA tradition dating back three decades.
