The Stuttgart Theatre Center’s “Stage Door” production will receive its official judge’s review March 5 as part of the U.S. Army Installation Management Command – Europe’s Tournament of Plays (TOPPERs).
The critique is part of the annual tournament which recognizes efforts in a variety of technical and performance categories.
This year, 16 plays and musicals from nine U.S. Army garrison locations in Germany, Belgium and Italy as well as from Aviano Air Force Base, Italy, are entered in the competition.
TOPPERs, established in 1989, recognizes Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation entertainment staff for theatrical and musical performances. During the tournament, staff and volunteers also receive coaching, teaching and mentoring through interaction and instruction from professional adjudicators.
After viewing all productions in the region, the judges then select awardees and nominees to recognize exceptional efforts in a variety of technical and performance categories. These awards are presented at the TOPPERs Awards Ceremony on April 23 at the Armstrong’s Club in Kaiserslautern.
