Stuttgart Children and Family Festival

The 18th Stuttgart Children’s and Family Festival will take place on June 25th and 26th, 2022.
The children and family festival opens its doors for the 18th time on June 25 and 26, 2022 in the heart of downtown Stuttgart.
From 11:00-18:00 each day, more than 65,000 young and old visitors will once again be able to play, browse, research, get to know and try things out with over 120 partners for two days.
True to the motto “Our Colorful City”, all activities are free of charge.
With the festival partners City-Initiative Stuttgart eV as organizer of the festival, the Sportkreis Stuttgart eV as the umbrella organization of around 300 sports clubs in Stuttgart and with the support of the agency kmr for the organization and implementation, the Stuttgart children’s and family festival around the Schlossplatz, Eckensee and put the Königstraße on its feet every year. The patronage is assumed every year by the Prime Minister of Baden-Württemberg and the Lord Mayor of Stuttgart. An event that is one of the largest of its kind in Germany. The best thing about it is that all activities at the festival are free of charge.
The children’s and family festival presents around 40 clubs of the umbrella organization Sportkreis Stuttgart eV in the “Sport” section every year, as well as other area partners and campaigns that focus on exercise. Visitors can discover numerous sports offers and try them out. Whether it’s lacrosse, stacking, golf, rugby, sailing or taekwondo, with the variety of sports there is definitely something for everyone at the children’s and family festival.
The “Knowledge/Technology” area playfully introduces visitors to the children’s and family festival to topics such as natural history, history, politics, sustainability and scientific phenomena. Wheels of fortune, puzzles, interactive exhibits and circuits are used.
Visitors to the children’s and family festival can let off steam and discover new things in the activities in the “play area”. Giant slides, play courses, board games, building blocks, bouncy castles and much more are tested and ensure lots of fun. Of course, there are puzzles, memories and drawing tables for the little ones.
The “Health/Nutrition” area informs visitors to the children’s and family festival primarily about proper nutrition, exercise and the prevention of illnesses. Through the independent preparation of food, tastings according to the mixed plate principle, discovery courses for herbs, an allergy mobile or movement modules, education is provided in a playful way.
Every year, the “Action/Adventure” theme includes lots of fun, games and education. A barefoot sensory path teaches visitors to the children’s and family festival how to blindly feel and walk on different surfaces. The focus is also on traffic prevention, a cable car over the lake, a glider and much more.
There are no limits to “creativity” in this area of the children’s and family festival: around children’s face painting, airbrush tattoos, photo campaigns, dance workshops, making ribbons and flower wreaths, as well as designing fabric bags, porcelain items and buttons, the creative area is very popular every year and souvenirs can usually be taken home.
