Stuttgart DoDEA Schools to Return to In-Person Instruction on Monday, February 22nd

Story by Stephen J. Smith
Public Affairs Officer – DoDEA Europe

SEMBACH, GERMANY – In coordination with military leadership and public health experts, most DoDEA schools in Germany, to include USAG Stuttgart schools, will return to in-person instruction on Monday, February 22nd, 2021.

Due to a recent increase in COVID positive numbers in the local area, Baumholder schools will remain in remote instruction through at least Friday, February 26th, 2021. Students enrolled in DoDEA’s Virtual School are not impacted by this change.

After discussions with military Public Health officials, cloth face coverings are still approved for use in DoDEA schools, while riding on DoDEA school vehicles, and while at pick-up/drop-off locations. Surgical face coverings, N95/KN95 and FFP2 medical face coverings are also approved.

REMINDER: Parents and families play a critical role in maintaining the health of our schools. Please ensure the daily completion of the DoDEA pre-screening protocol checklist to help ensure that everyone is healthy before heading to school each morning. We also ask that you remind your students of the importance of wearing face coverings, maintaining social distancing, and following the instructions of school leadership.

Thank you for your continued support and vigilance during this uniquely challenging school year. Please reach out to your student’s school administration with any further questions.
