Millionth paratrooper passes away

Leo S. Palmer was laid to rest at Ostfriedhof in Ludwigsburg Germany, July 1, 2016.

Palmer was a Private with the 82nd Airborne Division, in July of 1955 he was identified as the Millionth Paratrooper to receive the Paratrooper Badge (Jump Wings).

C., pins the jumper’s insignia on Palmer” at an Airborne Association dinner in Washington. Palmer enlisted In the U.S. Army on Dec. 7, 1954, the 13th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor.
