As school resumes, bring two forms of ID (and patience) to the gate

Information provided by USAG Stuttgart Directorate of Emergency Services

Monday, August 23 is the first day of the new school year in the Stuttgart Military Community.

As we welcome our students back, we advise patience at our installation gates, especially around school arrival and dismissal times (about 7:15-8:30 a.m. and 2:30-3:00 p.m.), due to expected traffic buildup.

Additionally, we urge patience and understanding with any delays at the gate due to the introduction of the DBIDS access control system and encourage all community members to carry two forms of identification to enter post.

Valid forms of ID include all DoD ID cards, passports, US-issued state driver licenses/IDs with photos, police ID cards, EU national ID cards, and German residence permits (Aufenthaltstitel) and work permits (Arbeitsgenehmigung).

USAREUR Driver’s Licenses, student bus passes, unit or organization access badges, NIPR and SIPR computer token cards, club cards, and name tags or uniforms are NOT acceptable forms of identification.

Personnel over the age of 18 riding duty buses must also be able to show two forms of ID.

* Students riding DoDEA-contracted school buses do not need a second form of identification. *

As a reminder, please be kind and patient with our contract security guard teammates as they work around the clock to keep our community safe and secure.
