U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart Housing Division will have a new furnishings management contractor beginning Sept. 1, the change is intended to improve service quality, but the transition may cause a few delays for some customers.
The decision to change contractors was regional and affects all housing drayage contracts in Europe. During this transition period from now until Aug. 31, some delivery and pickup appointments may experience delays or require rescheduling. The new contractor will assume full operations on Sept. 1.
“We know that your time is highly valuable and that managing a household move or coordinating furnishings is already a stressful process without added uncertainty,” said Housing Division Chief Charm Sutton, USAG Stuttgart. “While this change is ultimately designed to significantly improve the capacity, efficiency, and reliability of the services provided to your families, the transition process is currently causing some logistical challenges for our team.”
Until the transition is complete, some appointments may not be completed as originally planned and need to be rescheduled. If an appointment is affected, customers can expect to be contacted by the housing team who will strive to make the change as minimally disruptive as possible.
“The Furnishings Management Office (FMO) is working diligently to fulfill all scheduled delivery and pickup appointments during their originally scheduled times,” Sutton said. “We deeply appreciate your patience, flexibility, and understanding as we navigate this transition to better serve you. Our new delivery contractor will officially take over on Sept. 1, bringing enhanced service and reliability to our community.”
