IRS increased the annual maximum contribution for TSP participants

For 2020, the IRS has increased the annual maximum elective deferral (contribution) for TSP participants from $19,000 to $19,500.

OMA and ZFA Customers ONLY: Participants who want to maximize their TSP contributions for 2020 by spreading contributions across all 27 pay periods must update their TSP election information in the GRB Platform (formerly EBIS) no later than Dec. 19, 2019. To reach the contribution limit, you will need to enter an election of $723.

ZKA Customers: Participants who want to maximize their TSP contributions for 2020 by spreading contributions across all 26 pay periods must update their TSP election information in the GRB Platform (Formerly EBIS) no later than Dec. 20, 2019. To reach the contribution limit, you will need to enter an election of $750.

The maximum amount of catch-up contributions that can be contributed in a given year by participants age 50 and older will also increase from $6,000 to $6,500. Catch-up contributions are a yearly election and must be resubmitted to continue.
