Robinson Barracks Elementary 4th and 5th grade gifted education students explored several U.S. benchmarks leading up to a final presentation to fellow students and teachers, Dec. 7.

To prepare for the presentation, the students read novels and completed research to answer questions about how key times in history, to include the events of 9/11, Pearl Harbor, the Civil Rights Movement, and Chinese Immigration,  impacted the United States. They also completed projects where they examined posters and made connections to history and freedom of speech. The students pushed their learning into a wide range of  topics, while using their budding analysis skills as they helped lead discussions with classmates.
