Living in a military community provides students a real-life way to celebrate our men and women who serve in the Armed Forces.

Robinson Barracks Elementary School hosted a patriotic fall musical, Nov. 15, entitled “America We,” that was performed for the entire school, and including parents.

RBES music teacher, Susan Smith, facilitated the learning opportunity that allowed 4th and 5th grade students a chance to show off their talents in singing and dancing. The production included a variety of patriotic songs, and even swing dancing was a part of the show.

“These types of learning activities not only give the students a chance to master DODEA music standards for 4th and 5th grade, but also provide an opportunity to work as a team, to let the students’ individual talents shine,” Smith said.
