Photo contest showcases local talent

A picture is worth a thousand words. The phrase is said so often it is considered trite. But for the 44 photographers who entered the 2013 U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart Digital Photography Contest, the truth of the statement is not lessened. A good photograph can capture reality and evoke emotion unlike any words. One picture can tell a life’s story in a moment. It can demand one’s attention, prove a point, magnify a sentiment, and capture a slice of beauty forever—all in a single glance.
