Sesame Street, the United Services Organization, and Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation will bring the Muppets to U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart July 19.

Performances take place on July 19 at 2 and 5 p.m. in the Patch Fitness Center, Building 2337. Doors will open 30 minutes before each show. The show is for ID cardholders and their dependents, and is free.

This year’s tour showcases the power of friendship when Elmo and his Sesame Street pals help Katie, a military child, open up about her fears and excitement as she deals with moving to a new place and making new friends.

The Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families — the USO’s longest running, free traveling tour based on Sesame Street’s military family initiative — is currently traveling to 42 installations in eight countries in the Europe and Pacific regions.

Organizers said the show comprises a fun-filled character performance with special giveaways and outreach materials for those who attend.

Since its debut in July 2008, the Sesame Street/USO Experience for Military Families has taken its message to more than 368,000 troops and military families, and performed 631 shows on 145 military installations in 33 states and 11 countries.
