VA rep coming to brief WARTAC

A Department of Veterans Affairs representative is coming to brief the Warrior Training Advancement Course in Stuttgart, Dec. 5.

In partnership with IMCOM-Europe, the VA is offering this WARTAC Career Skills Program, which is designed to place transitioning service members into VA careers as a VSR at one of the VA’s 56 regional offices immediately after separation. This training will be open to Service Members from all branches of service – the attached summary and trifold provides an overview of WARTAC and the VSR position.

In addition to meeting the education and experience requirements for this course, applicants must also meet these timeline and SFL-TAP requirements:

  • Must be an active duty service member with a DOD CAC Card with a separation/retirement date of NLT 10 October 2020.
  • Must be separated from military service or on transition leave and able to begin working at one of the 56 VA Regional Offices no later than 24 August 2020.
  • Must complete the SFL-TAP 5-day Transition Assistance Program workshop prior to enrollment, and be able to complete any portions not completed prior to the start date of separation/retirement date or start date of PTDY/Transition Leave, whichever is first.

The WARTAC VSR CSP will run April 13–June 25, 2020, on Sembach Kaserne service members stationed outside local commuting distance greater than 50 mile radius from the course training location will attend on a permissive temporary duty status.An email with more details will be sent to eligible transitioning service members who have been identified by their ETS/retirement date as someone who may apply for the Veterans Service Representative training program. The briefing will take place in the Central Processing Facility, Bldg. 2913, Room 118, Panzer Kaserne.
