PCS tax law briefings offered

Stuttgart Civilian Personnel Advisory Center

The chief of client services for the 21st TSC Law Center, Mark Christensen, will conduct both briefings on Feb. 24. The first take place in the Kelley Barracks Theatre, 9–11 a.m., with the second at the Patch Community Club, 1-3 p.m. Civilians who work on Panzer, Robinson or other locations can attend either of these sessions. No reservations are required.

This is the first year that most civilians must claim taxable permanent change of station expenses on their federal tax returns. Additionally, benefits from the 2019 National Defense Authorization Act authorized several changes regarding Relocation Income Tax Allowance, or RITA, will be covered  for those with a first duty station move or who PCS and separate from federal service.

All civilian federal employees in the Stuttgart military community who PCSd here since Jan. 1, 2018, or who are likely to PCS from Stuttgart in the next couple years, should attend. This is the last opportunity to be briefed on this important topic before 2019 tax returns must be filed.
