Parking and vehicle access restrictions for upcoming Change of Command ceremonies

U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart is preparing for a number of Change of Command and official ceremonies taking place across our installations in the coming weeks. Ahead of the ceremonies, there are a few parking and vehicle restrictions drivers should note. In most cases, restrictions begin the night before the ceremony at midnight. Any vehicle remaining in a blocked zone after restriction signs are posted will be towed. Please follow all posted signs explaining parking restrictions to avoid towing.

Vehicle access to the following areas is restricted on the following dates:

USAG Stuttgart Change of Command
June 26, Panzer Kaserne

  • Access to the perimeter of the Panzer Parade Field will be blocked.
  • Near the Panzer Laundry
  • A portion of the Galaxy Bowling and Entertainment Center lot

U.S. European Command
July 1, Patch Barracks

  • Beginning at 5 p.m. June 29, all of Washington Square will be blocked
  • The area around the Swabian Special Events Center
  • The area around the Patch Gym
  • One row of parking in the parking lot on the east side of Husky Field

EUCOM personnel are highly encouraged to telework, car pool, use public transportation, or park on another installation and use the duty bus on Monday, June 30 and Tuesday, July 1. Telework has been authorized and approval is delegated to individual directorates. The ceremony will include a ceremonial artillery gun salute tentatively scheduled between 11 a.m. and noon. No live rounds are being fired and there is no need to be alarmed by the noise.

U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe and Africa
July 3, Panzer Kaserne

  • Access to the north end of the PX parking lot will be blocked (this will also be blocked off for the annual Independence Day celebration).
