Between Böblingen and Sindelfingen – Temporary bridge over the A81 closed again

The temporary bridge over the A81 between Sindelfingen and Böblingen opened on Sunday, Aug. 3 at approximately 9 p.m., but it has already been closed to traffic again since Tuesday morning. Both directions are affected.

A cover plate on the bridge’s roadway came loose in the area where the individual bridge elements were assembled, explained Deutsche Einheit Fernstraßenplanungs- und -bau GmbH (Deges), which is responsible for the motorway expansion.

Deges wrote on Tuesday afternoon that it is not yet possible to estimate when the repairs on the bridge will be completed and traffic can be reopened at this point. However, there are no restrictions for pedestrians or cyclists. The detour for cars will take you along Sindelfinger Straße and Böblinger Straße, along the Smart site, or via the B 464. Extensive reconstruction work is currently underway on the section between Sindelfingen-Ost and Böblingen-Hulb. The final bridge demolition, which is why the temporary bridge was installed, is scheduled for this coming weekend. For this reason, the section of the Autobahn between Sindelfingen-Ost und Böblingen-Hulb will be completely closed between 10 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8, and 5 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11.  (BB Kreiszeitung, Aug. 5, 2025)
