USAG Stuttgart Mobile App Troubleshoot FAQ

The U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart recently launched an informative mobile application, available in any app store by searching, “USAG Stuttgart.” The app is created and maintained by the garrison Public Affairs Office. Feedback is always welcome from community members for issues and suggestions, too.

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions community members should know:

Q) Notifications: Why does the garrison app request permission to access data or contacts?

A) The app features quick-dial and email functions for emergency numbers, appointments and feedback. It also includes reporting capabilities for suspicious activity, and feedback forums where people may need to upload a photo, screenshot or video.

Q) Bus Schedule: Why is the Duty Bus schedule in the public app?

A) The garrison commander determined the risk of the on-post bus schedule to be of minimal threat, in conjunction with the garrison Antiterrorism office. U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) Antiterrorism and Security also authorized the release of this information through official garrison publicity channels.

Q) The AFN Radio player doesn’t auto-play?

A) If the radio player pop-up doesn’t function, tap the blue AFN 360 logo image to launch the 360 screen and online player. Note: must be connected to data or the internet to function.

Q) The ICE comment feature as well as ID Card and SOFA/Passport Office appointment links took me to an unsecure page warning, is it ok to proceed?

A) Yes. Proceed, then select “show details” or “advanced” and proceed to “visit this website” for access.  It should only prompt you to accept this and open the webpage the first time you visit the page. Scroll down to accept to be able to access the ICE system or appointment page in RAPIDS.

Q) Will you send emergency notifications or notifications about road conditions daily?

A) The Installation Operation Center (IOC) and Emergency Operations Center (EOC) have the ability to send mobile notification alerts, however, these will only be during the time of an emergency or notice affecting the main gates. Daily road condition updates will continue to be published to the garrison Facebook page. The Road Conditions hotline is listed in the mobile app under the “Emergency #” list for easy calling ability. The hotline includes a recorded status update of current road conditions. The hotline is maintained during the winter only from October through April. On-Post road conditions are also posted to the Installation Management Command (IMCOM) Europe Road Conditions and School Closures page which is linked in the app (see icon image). Reminder: Only on-post road conditions are reported by the Military Police.

Q) How do I give feedback if I have a suggestion or issue using the app?

A) Swipe left in the mobile app to find the Feedback button which sends an email to the garrison Public Affairs Team.
