Full closure of District Road K1055 (“Frog Road”) starting May 2

Drivers in and around Stuttgart and Böblingen be aware: District Road (Kreisstrasse) K1055, a.k.a. “Frog Road,” from Sindelfingen to Stuttgart will be blocked off between exit Sindelfingen-Ost and the Böblingen district border (Vaihingen, near Pascalstrasse) in both directions starting May 2 at 7 a.m. until the beginning of July due to renewing the road surface. Traffic will be rerouted via Autobahn A81.

Heavy traffic and major Staus are expected during this timeframe.

Drivers are advised to give themselves additional time when traveling to and from Panzer Kaserne in Böblingen.

According to Defense Education Activity-Europe transportation officials, school bus routes will be monitored once construction is underway and might be subject to change depending on delays caused by the road closure. Same will apply to the USAG Stuttgart duty bus schedule, according to Transportation Motor Pool officials. Community members will be informed via stuttgartcitizen.com and the garrison Facebook page as soon as any information updates become available.
