U.S. Army Garrison Stuttgart engages to embrace new technologies to reach more community members whenever possible.

The garrison’s Public Affairs Office launched a video on USAG Stuttgart’s Facebook page, June 16, using a new feature streaming a live-shot video. Facebook introduced live video capability to the public in April this year. In conjunction with American Forces Network Stuttgart, the garrison hosts a weekly radio broadcast Command Update on Wednesday’s from 7-8 a.m. and a Culture Corner segment airing Thursday mornings at 8 a.m. on 102.3 FM.

Due to the geographically dispersed military community of about 23,000 in the Stuttgart area, it can be challenging to reach both service members and family members with information in the same venue. Following a survey conducted by the Public Affairs Office back in 2015, the most engaging subject of interest to more than 1,000 community members surveyed was finding out about cultural things to do in and around Stuttgart.

By recording live feed, the garrison can now allow its audience an additional opportunity to receive information at their convenience, accepting feedback, comments and questions directly.

All information shared during Culture Corner on AFN and in the live Facebook video recap is also available online at www.stuttgartcitizen.com in the off-post calendar within the Culture & Leisure tab.
