Members of the Hofener Scillamännle Fasching guild in Stuttgart-Hofen participate in last year’s parade in Hofen. The guild was founded in 1985 and the group is named after the “Blaustern,” or scilla flower, which grows in the environmentally-protected “Scillawald” area near Hofen. The mask of the Scillamännle is made of lime-tree wood. The mask and “Häs,” or costume, is made based on the blossom and leaf colors of the scilla plant.
