Software issues with new school meal program to be resolved soon

A message from the Exchange about new school meal program improvements, originally announced, here.

Dear Parents/Guardian:

The Exchange School Meal Program at overseas locations has implemented a new software program that provides several new features, including an on-line application process for the Free and Reduced School Meal program.  This new process will allow parents to complete the application at their convenience, eliminating the need to take application forms to the School Liaison Officer (SLO) offices.  The new software is also designed to eliminate the need to close an existing school meal account when parents PCS to another overseas duty station. The existing account can be electronically transferred to the new school.

The implementation of this new software program involved the transfer of data from the existing software program and is expected to be operational with the start of the new 2016/2017 school year.  During this process, the Exchange encountered a few software issues which will be resolved soon.

Bottom line: The Exchange is committed to ensuring all children receive a school meal.

We apologize for any inconvenience that parents/guardians may experience during this transition period.
